Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the services of The IB Academy, operated by Cordoba Institute LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access our services.

2. Services Description

The IB Academy provides tutoring services for students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Middle Years Programme (MYP). Our services include:

• One-on-one tutoring sessions (in-person and online)
• Subject-specific academic support
• Extended Essay, TOK, and Internal Assessment guidance
• Exam preparation
• Educational resources and materials

3. Registration and Accounts

To use our services, you may need to provide accurate and complete information about yourself and/or your child. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account information
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Booking and Payment

Session Packages

Sessions are available as single sessions or in packages of 10 or 20 hours. Package validity periods are specified at the time of purchase.

Payment Terms

• All payments must be made prior to commencement of classes
• We accept major credit cards and bank transfers
• All prices are in UAE Dirhams (AED) unless otherwise stated
• Prices are subject to change with notice

Monthly Packages

• All classes must be taken in the course of the month
• No carryover of classes to the following month
• Unused sessions within a monthly package will expire at the end of the billing period

5. Cancellation and Rescheduling

By Students/Parents

• Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice at no charge
• Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full
• No-shows will be charged in full

By The IB Academy

In the rare event that we need to cancel a session, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer a rescheduled session or credit at no additional cost.

6. Refund Policy

• All payments are final and non-refundable
• No refunds will be issued for completed, missed, or unused sessions
• No refunds will be issued for expired packages
• In exceptional circumstances, credits may be issued at management's discretion for future use only

7. Student Conduct

Students are expected to:

• Attend sessions punctually and prepared
• Treat tutors and staff with respect
• Complete assigned homework and practice materials
• Maintain academic integrity (no plagiarism or cheating)

We reserve the right to discontinue services if conduct standards are not met.

8. Academic Integrity

Our tutors provide guidance and support but will not complete assignments or assessments on behalf of students. We are committed to upholding the IB's academic integrity policies. Any work submitted for IB assessment must be the student's own work.

9. Intellectual Property

All materials provided by The IB Academy, including but not limited to study guides, worksheets, and resources, are our intellectual property. These materials are for personal educational use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or sold without our written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide high-quality tutoring services, we cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes. The IB Academy shall not be liable for:

• Exam results or grades
• University admission decisions
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

11. Online Sessions

For online tutoring sessions:

• Students are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection
• A quiet, distraction-free environment is recommended
• Sessions may be recorded for quality assurance purposes with consent
• Technical difficulties on the student's end do not constitute grounds for a refund

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

13. Technology and AI Usage

The IB Academy may utilize technology and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance our educational services. This includes but is not limited to:

• AI-assisted learning platforms and educational software
• Automated scheduling and communication systems
• Digital resources and interactive learning tools
• AI-powered practice questions and feedback systems

The IB Academy is not responsible for any consequences arising from students' independent use of AI tools outside of our supervised sessions. We encourage students to discuss appropriate AI usage with their tutors and school coordinators.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
